Community Uplift
Our strong commitment to community well-being and social responsibility drives every initiative and it is demonstrated through various efforts across different areas.
Specialized education and skill development programs cater to the unique needs of individuals, promoting their inclusion and independence.
A wide range of facilities are made available through different institutes, ensuring that individuals with disabilities can get adequate attention and skill development. Most services are provided free of cost or at a minor fee. Support is extended to institutes for special persons, where technical and skilled education is provided.
- KDSP Down Syndrome Center:Interloop played a pivotal role in the recent opening of the Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KDSP) in Faisalabad. This center currently has the capacity to facilitate over 200 children with Down syndrome. The initiative significantly advances KDSP's mission to empower individuals with Down syndrome across Pakistan, offering life skills training, therapy, and care to help children grow, thrive, and contribute meaningfully to society. It delivers essential resources and specialized knowledge to more local families, creating a meaningful tomorrow.
- Support for the Deaf Community: A partnership with ConnectHear provides sign language solutions that improve accessibility and inclusivity for the deaf community. The ConnectHear app offers interpretation services for banking, shopping, transportation, and communication, supporting greater independence.
In 2024, ConnectHear was supported with PKR 3 million for the project and manage operational expenses. During the International Week of the Deaf 2024, a series of events were held in Faisalabad, offering career guidance, essential tools, and motivation for participants. Sessions covered:
- Supporting Young Deaf Students & Parents
- Career Development for the Deaf Community
- Skill Development for Higher Secondary Deaf Students
- Autism Center Faisalabad: A collaborative effort with the District Government's Special Education Department, the Autism Unit in Faisalabad is established. This unit currently benefits around 25 children, providing early-stage assessment and vital support for those facing challenges with social communication, repetitive behavior, and intellectual capabilities.
- Inclusive Treatment & Care: Assistance for individuals with special needs, covering their treatment and development, is provided through collaboration with various specialized organizations, including hospitals, educational centers, and welfare bureaus. Our partners in this vital area include Syeda Khatoone-Jannat Trust Hospital & Special Education Center, Roshni Homes Trust, Al Faisal & Bashir Nabeena Center, and the Vocational Training Institute for Children with Disabilities, Government Hearing Impaired Schools, and the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau, among others.
Addressing critical mobility challenges and restrictive gender norms, this initiative enables women to access education, the formal workforce, and public life - opportunities often limited by a lack of safe transportation. Launched in Faisalabad by Interloop, in collaboration with the Salman Sufi Foundation and supported by Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), the program empowers women with the skills and resources to ride motorcycles confidently and safely. Initially designed for 2,000 women, the program has exceeded expectations, training over 2,300 women from Interloop, GC Women University Faisalabad, The Citizen's Foundation, and the wider community. WOW delivers comprehensive motorcycle training, road safety education, and anti-harassment workshops, enabling women to reclaim public spaces and participate in society without fear of violence, harassment, or social backlash. Participants receive support in obtaining driving licenses and gain access to subsidized motorcycles and microloans, empowering them with the financial and mobility independence needed to shape their futures.
Programs providing essential social assistance have enhanced the welfare of community members and their families.
- School Meal Program:In partnership with Allah Walay Trust, the program addresses the health and potential of children in underprivileged areas. By providing free, nutritious meals to students in both government and private schools, we lay a foundation for healthier lives and brighter academic futures.
These high-quality meals are carefully planned to meet students' dietary needs, significantly boosting their energy, focus, and learning abilities. This targeted nutrition has demonstrably improved academic performance and overall well-being among beneficiaries. Building on its success, the program has expanded its reach to 14 schools under the Allah Walay Trust – encompassing 13 government schools in Faisalabad and one in Lahore – collectively enriching the lives of around 2,500 children.
- Punjab Police Daycare: A dedicated daycare facility for the Punjab Police in Lahore was established and is continuously supported. This provides key help to their families.
Dedication to environmental care and animal welfare is demonstrated through partnerships with groups focused on protecting animals and treating them kindly.
- Tahira Animal Welfare Foundation: Essential help is provided for animal rescue and TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) programs for stray animals. A special rescue vehicle was also provided to improve rescue efforts in the community.
Cultural heritage is preserved and inclusivity promoted through support for centers that enrich society and offer special care.
- Lyallpur Picture Historical Gallery: The gallery is a key learning hub for students of all ages, from basic to PhD and technical levels. The library, run by the District Government, hosts many organizations, including vocational institutes, the Child Protection Bureau, Old Age Homes, and Nabina Markaz, all of which offer skilled services and education. Our support covers monthly general expenses, ensuring sustained operations. Students, historians, professors, and the public benefit immensely from its extensive collection of books, literature, and an art gallery showcasing Lyallpur's rich history. Funding ensures the gallery stays in excellent condition and continues to grow with new ideas.
